Man I wish I was able to get tickets to see Flight of the Conchords when they either came to Boston this year or the Bay Area but they sold out fast. Anyways here is there latest music video from their show on HBO. Every guy that every has been to a club can relate to this song....
You can thank me for these awesome clips later. The first one my brother passed on to me and it since I have passed it on to some people, be sure to pay close attention around the 1:40 mark.
These next two are from the Flight of the Conchords tv show.
So today I was in the computer lab at school and spotted out of the corner of my eye this guy who looked a bit familiar but I could not place it so I just dismissed it. I had just finished printing out some articles and got up to get them and on the way to pick them up, the guy stopped me and said are you a sharks fan? I was wearing my Sharks hat so it was a bit obvious but anyways =-) . He claimed has not seen any Sharks fans in the area before... and then he stated that his brother plays for the Sharks. By then I had realized that this guy looked kind of like Joe Thornton, and it turns out it was his brother. So we talked a bit about what each one of us is doing at BU... he is getting his PhD in Education. We were both looking forward to going to see the Sharks vs Bruins game on Tuesday. Anyways it was definitely strange meeting him as it was so unexpected. He seemed like a really nice and down to earth guy, which from what I hear is also how his brother is. Maybe I will see him on Tuesday night.
In other news I went to church for the first time in a while last weekend. I went to Ivana's church and it so happened that Joy was in town, so I was able to see both of them and then we got some dim sum after service. Ivana unfortunately broke her arm recently as part of a snowboarding accident but seems to be doing good.
I can't wait to be done with school... the fact that I'm working 3 days a week for free as part of my education and then also having to deal with school papers/readings sucks. I'm burnt out of the whole school and work thing. I think it would be better if I was getting a stipend or something, but I'm not. =-(
So it seems like for at least two years I always seem to have had delayed flights and missed connections every time I fly. Yesterday was no different. I was supposed to fly out of Boston at 9:40am... and things looked like we would be on time. After everyone boarded the plane I noticed that the checked luggage/baggage hadn't been put on the plane yet. From what I could tell they may have had a limited amount of those conveyor belts so we had to wait for one. After getting that done we had to wait at the gate because there was a line to get the plane deiced (basically shooting hot water on the wings and then shooting some sort of anti-icing liquid on the wings. After that was done we were told that the all the snow plowers were diverted to the arrival runways so we would have to return to the gate. After returning to the gate we had to wait for 30 minutes before they decided what would happen next. Eventually they decided not to cancel the flight and delayed it another 45 minutes but allowed us to deboard and grab a snack before departing. We had to go through the the deicing process again. Anyways this whole process took a little less than 6 hours, then I had about a 2 hour flight to Charlotte. My flight to SJ was originally going to be from Boston to Charlotte to Vegas and then to SJ. I know it sucks but saved me over $100 over just a one stop flight.
So I got into Charlotte and had of course missed my connections and had to wait in a line to let customer service find me a flight back home. The first option the lady provided me with was a flight to St. Louis ->Phoenix -> SJC... which would have sucked. Luckily for me I got a customer service person who kept on searching and tried to find other options. Eventually due to her quick fingers and her persistence she found me a flight for the morning from Charlotte to Vegas and then to SJ. So if all goes as planned I will be home at 1pm today (the 22nd).
Flying back home for xmas break from Boston sucks... which is another reason I look forward to graduating and moving back to California.
Done with another semester. One more to go. Although I am done with school I still have a week of my internship to go before heading back home for about 2 weeks. I'll be home on the 21st. Celebrated with class mates the past two nights so that was fun, it reminded me of drinking at SDSU's on campus pub "Monty's" with my old college roommates after finals.
